Singapore Airlines (SIA) signed a codeshare agreement on flights operated by Alaska Airlines, to expand SIA operations in the North American market.

Agreements pending regulatory approvals will enter into force on September 27, 2017.

Through the agreement, Singapore Airlines will add the ‘SQ’ marker code on Alaska Airlines-operated flights serving 18 destinations¹ in the United States and Mexico.

Current codeshare flights, operated by Virgin America and serving 19 destinations in the United States will also be included in the agreement. Virgin America has been acquired by Alaska Air Group in 2016.

Members of the frequent flyer program from Singapore Airlines and Alaska Airlines, KrisFlyer and Mileage Plan, will also earn miles when they operate flights operated by both airlines starting from September 27, 2017.
