Jakarta – (

Port junior services and services in Tanjung Priok are assured to continue well and smoothly, despite the strike action at PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) on 3-10 August 2017.

Indonesian Port Corporation (IPC) and JICT management together with the Ministry of Transportation and Police of RI have developed contingency plan in order to maintain the security of national vital objects and still provide optimal service in handling the loading and unloading of goods.

Gunta Prabawa, President Director of JICT, explained that JICT loading and unloading activities were diverted to four existing terminals in the Tanjung Priok Port area, namely PT. Tanjung Priok Port, TPK Koja, New Priok Container Terminal 1 (NPCT1) and PT Mustika Alam Lestari (MAL) so the service keeps running normally as usual. Currently the terminals have begun receiving a total of approximately 20 vessels from JICT.

“The port is one of the main gates and national vital objects, therefore JICT Management has cooperated with KSO TPK KOJA and three other terminals as a form of anticipating the need and smooth service to JICT customers so that it keeps running optimally,” said Gunta On Thursday, August 3, 2017.

Meanwhile, Elvyn G. Masassya, President Director of IPC, said that the company as a shareholder supports JICT’s management decisions to prioritize services to service users.

“We also appreciate the support of the Ministry of Transportation, the Indonesian Police, as well as all relevant agencies and parties that have cooperated in maintaining security and smooth operation, so that service users do not have to worry,” said Elvyn.
