The Indonesia National Shipowners Association (INSA) explained the recent phenomenon of the scarcity of empty containers in Indonesia.
Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – The shipping association revealed that there is a scarcity of empty containers in Indonesia as a result of a snowball from the reduced flow of goods as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic around the world.
Chairman of the DPP Indonesia National Shipowners Association (INSA) Carmelita Hartoto said the scarcity of empty containers for export was due to the snowball effect of reduced flow of goods as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic that hit the world.
“Automatically, international shipping operators reduce space. This pandemic puts various countries into lockdown, resulting in congestion and hampering return of empty containers or repos,” he explained to Bisnis.com, Tuesday (8/12/2020).
