The Indonesian Container Depot Association (Asdeki) proposed several suggestions related to the problem of export containers that are rare in the country.
JAKARTA – The Indonesian Container Depo Association (ICDA) revealed that the scarcity of 40 feet containers for export needs must be found through mutual agreements between shipping companies so that they can borrow containers from each other.
DPP Chairperson Asdeki Muslan AR said there needed to be cooperation between international shipping companies to be able to use their containers between one voyage and another.
“Thus, this will create mutually beneficial cooperation between shipping companies, exporters and the government. If this can be implemented, the logistics costs will definitely drop significantly,” he said, Wednesday (23/12/2020).
