Ground service provider PT Jasa Angkasa Semesta (JAS) grew 16 percent in 2017. In 2016, the company posted revenues of Rp 1.24 trillion and Rp 1.49 trillion in 2017.
JAS President Director Adji Gunawan said, 50% of the company’s total revenue comes from ground handling services or approximately Rp 750 billion of contribution. “The ground handling business is the backbone for other JAS businesses,” he told Kontan.co.id on Sunday (6/5).
The potential for ground handling business called Adji relies heavily on the growing number of airline traffic at the airports served by JAS. For your information, the company is now operating at 12 airports in Indonesia.
“Four of them have international certification ISAGO (IATA safety audit for ground operations), namely Soekarno-Hatta Airport Tangerang, Ngurah Rai Bali, Juanda, and Kualanamu,” said Adji.
While in 2017 total ground handling handled JAS as much as 61,267 flights from a total of 17.36 million passenger aircraft for silver services. Then as many as 19,690 aviation and 8.06 million passengers for premier services.
Just a comparison, in 2016 silver services for ground handling JAS handle 49,051 flights from a total of 14.29 million passengers. The premier services serve 19,042 flights from a total of 7.32 million passengers.
Since JAS’s ground handling business depends on the amount of flight traffic in Indoensia, Adji hopes that the macroeconomic conditions in Indonesia will be stable. He also hopes that political and security conditions can be maintained to have a positive impact on the growth of international aviation traffic.
As information, in addition to ground handling, JAS also provides cargo and warehousing services, lounge services, and airport special assistance (ASA).
Cargo handling also called Adji becomes an important part of JAS business. Currently, for cargo handling and warehousing, JAS has operated in five airports in Indonesia.
