DENPASAR – Bali’s exports to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) surged significantly in January 2018. The increase was 4,033 percent compared to December 2017.
Even compared to January 2017, Bali exports in January 2018 also rose by 3,794 percent. Head of Bali Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Adi Nugroho said, exports to UAE in January 2017 only USD 97.331 and in December 2017 USD 91.702. However, in January 2018, Bali’s exports to UAE rose significantly to USD 3,790,614.
This export figure placed UAE in the fourth position of Bali’s largest export destination country with 7.12 percent share. While the highest export destination country still to the United States with 25.82 percent share.
If earlier in December 2017, from 10 major export countries, China, Japan and Singapore destinations recorded a decline. While compared to January 2017, from 10 export destination countries, only Singapore’s destinations are decreasing. “The highest increase in month to month is the UAE’s goal of 4,033 percent,” he added.
Based on statistical data, the commodity exported to UAE is garment ie apparel not knitted 28 percent and footwear 56.93 percent. Besides wood and wooden commodities are also exported to UAE that is 13.31 percent.
There are also furniture exports and home lighting that is 1.82 percent, jewelry / gems 0.01 percent, knitted goods 0.14 percent and 0.11 percent patchwork. “Apparel is not knitted and the highest footwear is exported to UAE,” he said.
Head of Industry and Trade of Bali Province, I Putu Astawa, said that many commodities exported to UAE are furniture, jewelry and garment. Increased exports to the UAE are expected to increase since 2 months ago.
