DENPASAR – Readiness Ngurah Rai Airport Bali became one of the keys to the successful implementation of the annual meeting of IMF-World Bank 2018.

Related to the great celebration, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati admitted that he will soon meet with Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi to discuss the increase of flight volume of Ngurah Rai Airport.

The time of flights that are likely to be solid is a week before or after the title of IMF-WB 2018.

He predicts, most of the IMF-WB 2018 delegation will arrive a week earlier to enjoy Bali.

In addition, the delegation is also likely to extend the residence time in Bali for 10 to 15 days after the IMF-WB 2018 title. Thus, the arrival and return of delegates should be of concern.

“My friends in Washington say all the flights to Bali that week are fully book, this becomes something that we will discuss with the Minister of Transportation how we can add especially in the week before and after,” said Minister of Finance on Thursday (1/3 / 2018).

He said most delegates are likely to extend their stay in Bali to travel.

This will certainly have a positive impact on the Bali economy that previously had experienced a decrease in tourist visits due to the activity of Mount Agung.

Bali will also benefit greatly because of the flood of tourists in October 2018 when in those days it usually entered the low seasson.

Besides Bali, the Finance Minister also believes other areas outside Bali will benefit from Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara and Banyuwangi. In addition, other areas are expected to welcome the arrival of tourists.

“The preparation is good at this time, hopefully it will run well and add to the economy of Bali,” said the Minister.
