In connection with the issuance of NOTAM 2552/18, PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) informed the reopening of I Gusti International Airport Ngurah Rai Bali starting at 14:30 WITA.

The issuance of NOTAM is based on the evaluation of RGB Satya Himawari Weather Satellite Imagery issued by BMKG at 12:10 WITA which shows the current volcanic dust plotting route to the southwest-northwest and has completely left the airspace of I Gusti Airport Ngurah Rai, Bali. The results of the paper test conducted at 13:19 WITA showed nil results of volcanic ash kdi airport aerodrome area.

Currently operational activities have returned to normal and International Airport I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Bali will operate for 24 hours today to support the normalization process of flight rotation (flight recovery) in accordance with applicable procedures.

The Postal Service provided such as the alternative of land transportation buses from the Airport to 5 cities such as Mengwi Terminal, Padang Bai Port, Surabaya and Jakarta are still operating during the recovery period, also including placement of airline help desk and consulate general in international and domestic terminal.

PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) will continue to cooperate with relevant authorities such as BMKG, Flight Navigation Directorate, Airport Authority Region IV, AirNav, Ground handling and airline to monitor the movement of wind direction and dust spread periodically.

As of 14:00 WITA ago, PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) recorded 318 flights with a total of 26,862 passengers affected (canceled) due to airport closure. Of the 318 flight departures, there were 203 domestic flights with 13,958 passengers and 115 international flights with 12,904 passengers.
