DENPASAR – Chinese companies also donate funds for the construction of the North Bali airport.

Investors PT Pembangunan Bali Mandiri (Pembari) and Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) signed a cooperation to build an airport in North Bali precisely in Kubutambahan, Buleleng, Bali.

“We are very serious in engaging local partners and foreign partners to realize the intention of the people of North Bali to have a new airport in order to improve the welfare of the people of North Bali who are currently lagging far behind by their brothers in South Bali,” said Chairman PT Pembari, K Suardhana in the statement press received by Antara in Denpasar, Thursday (10/05/2018).

The signing of the cooperation coincided with the state visit of Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang in Indonesia on Monday (7/5).

In the case of state minister Li Keqiang instructed Chinese companies to invest more in Indonesia, whether in infrastructure or other business fields with more records using local Indonesian labor.

Along with the visit of Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, several Chinese companies also made a business visit to Indonesia on Tuesday (8/5) in Jakarta. One of the Chinese delegations established a cooperation agreement with PT Pembari to work together to build a new airport in North Bali precisely on the mainland of Kubutambahan Village, Buleleng Regency, Bali.

The signing of the cooperation was attended by Sinohydro Corporation’s China Refresentative Power Corporation in Indonesia, Sun Xiaopeng and Chairman of PT Pembari, K Suardhana in Jakarta.

K Suardhana said that although PT Pembari as the main investor of Airport development in North Bali has been holding companies from China, but still using local labor.

“In the cooperation agreement that has been stipulated in the construction agreement will still use more local or Indonesian labor, only a special workforce in the field who use labor from China,” he said.

Along with the signing of the cooperation, the construction plan of North Bali Airport through PT Pembari has also received a letter of support from Bank of China, Jakarta Branch.

Thus the consortium of North Bali Airport development cooperation (Batara) will be stronger in Financial and more professional in its development capability.

This is a follow-up or positive response to the suggestion or recommendation of Coordinating Minister for the Ministry of Marine Affairs Luhut B Pandjaitan for the Consortium of PT Pembari to strengthen the funding aspect and technical aspects of its development implementation.

Please note that previously PT Pembari has also established cooperation with BUMD BALI (PT PERUSDA BALI) and BUMN PT. WIKA.tbk and ADHI WORKS tbk.

Sinohydro Corporation’s China Power Representative Chairman Sun Xiaopeng welcomed the call for cooperation between Power China and Pembari to make the implementation of the North Bali Airport project more use of local labor.

Power China – Sinohydro is a state-owned enterprise of Bamboo Curtain which has long been operating in Indonesia and has even worked on several mega projects such as Jati Gede Dam, Power Plant in Bengkulu and several other big projects.

China-Sinohydro Power is also experienced in building airports in China and other major countries as well as including the 190th multinational in the FORTUNE 500 list.
