JAKARTA – Batik Air airline is planned to serve the flight route to Silangit International Airport, North Sumatra, from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Cengkareng.
In a press statement received by Business on Wednesday (15/11), the filing of flight route has been approved by the Ministry of Transportation. The company owned Lion Air Group is already able to fly premiere as of December 1, 2017.
The first flight Batik Air to Silangit using Airbus 320 aircraft. Batik Air provides 12 business seats and 144 economic seats, as a choice of services for the public or tourists.
Cengkareng-Silangit flight is scheduled to go home, done once a day. Departure from Cengkareng with flight ID 6832 at 09.35 and arrive at Silangit at 11:45.
Instead departure from Silangit with flight ID number 6833 at 12:20 and arrive at Cengkareng at 14.30 WIB.
Air Batik Airlines is committed to help the tourism sector of Lake Toba, North Sumatra.
Cengkareng-Silangit flights are dedicated to support the local tourism sector, in order to reach the target of 20 million foreign tourists in 2019.
At the end of 2017 Batik Air planned to fly to Labuan Bajo as its new daily flight route.
Previously, Batik Air had just received a plane to 37 Airbus 320 or plane to 51 overall.
The aircraft was imported directly from the Airbus manufacturer in Toulouse France. This aircraft is accommodated for Batik Air business expansion in support of 10 national tourist destinations.
Next year Batik Air will receive another four units of Airbus 320 aircraft. Three aircraft will arrive in February and another one in March 2018.
Until now Batik Air has served 38 domestic and international destinations with frequency reaching 280 flights per day.
Air Batik Airline has received IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate, an international flight safety audit on November 18, 2016.
With this certificate, Batik Air has been recognized to pass the standardization of international aviation security.
