JAKARTA – Tariffs for landing, placement and airplane storage services (PJP4U) services at all airports of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) are expected to keep in mind the condition of the airline industry.
The head of the Indonesian National Air Carriers Association (INACA) Bayu Sutanto said that airport operators should be sensitive to aviation industry conditions that are disrupted due to rising US dollar and avtur prices.
“They should [AP I] understand the condition of the airline as a source of revenue,” Bayu said today, Monday (2/7/2018).
He added that so far airport managers also never suffered losses due to the number of passengers and flight continues to grow. According to him, their income will continue to increase without the need to raise tariffs.
In fact, he added, managers can reduce the rate of PJP4U in line with the growth in the number of aircraft and passenger movements.
Furthermore, Bayu said, the government should also be able to intervene in the steps of airport managers.
“Airport tariffs are a matter of the public economy, so we have to assess the economic impacts of airlines, passengers, inflation, and other considerations,” he said.
