BULELENG – Bali’s House of Representatives (DPRD) wants the construction of the North Bali Airport located at sea. That’s because the social impact will be smaller than built on the mainland.
Secretary of Commission III of DPRD Bali, I Ketut Kariyasa Adhyana said, North Bali Airport development is ideally done at sea.
“The Regents of Buleleng and the Governor of Bali also want the sea construction of the airport,” said Ketut, Thursday (04/12/2010).
According to him, if the airport development is done on land, it will be faced with land acquisition issue. In addition there are several temples including replacing productive land. “Certainly if the sea is not done land acquisition,” he continued.
He encouraged the development of the airport as soon as it was done in the event that there was already an assessment and just waiting for the location to be determined.
He hoped there would be no other statements from the central government related to the construction of the North Bali Airport, as it would have a social impact on the local community.
Meanwhile, Speaker of Bali Legislative Council I Nyoman Adi Wiryatama admitted he went to the office of Kemenko Kamaritiman because want to get certainty about the construction of the airport. Director General of Air Transportation Kemenhub, Agus Santoso revealed, the growth of passengers in Bali continues to increase as the growth of the national tourism industry.
